History
Kathleen Senior High School (KHS) first opened its doors in 1928 which makes it the second oldest high school in Lakeland. Since its opening, KHS has held a tradition of breaking boundaries and setting new standards that make the staff, students, and alumni proud to call themselves Red Devils.
These broken boundaries include the first black principal at an integrated school in Polk County with Mr. Willie Speed in 1978. Other notable names that you will see around the campus include Ray Lewis, Clinton Wright, and Johnnie Jackson. Kathleen Senior High School alum have went on to tremendous success as leaders in their career fields.
